Community Service

Troop 70 believes in giving time to help where help may be needed. Over the course of a year Troop 70 easily provides 900 man hours toward community service. Annually, the Troop performs a service project for its sponsoring organization, the Catholic Community of Christ Our Light. The Troop also participates with the church's annual Mitzvah Day which is a parish-wide day of service. Non-perishable food is collected and delivered to the local food pantry annually. Annually, the Troop provides service to a Boy Scout Reservation to help maintain the camp. On average, there are two Eagle Scout service projects that are conducted. Typically, an entire weekend of service is devoted for each project.
